What are holograms?
For the technically inclined, a hologram is a high-tech optical laser-recording
of a 3D image bearing the multi-layer impressions of customised artwork
with various high security features demonstrating the reconstruction of
multiple images as a single image. For the rest, a hologram is a rather
colourful shiny image on products to help protect it from being duplicated,
as the hologram itself cannot be. It is usually considered as proof of
the product's authenticity.
Why should your product have a hologram?
1. Huge sums of money may be at risk in terms of lost sales if you do
not protect your product adequately.
2. The reputation of your company may be at stake, if another company
is easily able to replicate your products.
3. In product liability cases, you will have to establish a record of
having protected your product.
4. It is a fraud-preventive security and authentication procedure that
is vital for all companies.
Why holograms? Here are some of the reasons
1. Impossible to replicate
2. Traditional tools that counterfeiters use do not work on holograms
3. No previous case of a hologram having been replicated
4. Production of a hologram is technical, time-consuming and expensive
5. The equipment and skills necessary for the creation of an hologram
is fairly difficult to obtain
6. Proven track record of being the most successful technology in combating
duplication
7. Improves company's reputation
